Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team on a locum tenens basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric assessments, diagnosing mental illnesses, developing treatment plans, and monitoring the ongoing care of our patients. Additionally, you will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives holistic care that addresses their unique needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat mental illnesses, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate medications.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice in California.
- DEA registration.
- Experience working in a correctional or similar setting preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
